In five years I see myself in college at EMU working on my degree to be a registered nurse. To get my degree in the health care filed I have to keep time for school and to keep my grades up. I also see myself working a part time job in a child care center.

Some of the people skills that I've learned at Glacier Hills that i can use at another job are having tolerance and being patient. you have to be patient at your job because it's an important key to continue what your ding and to achieve your goals.
One thing that I learned about the human condition at Glacier Hills is that you have to be patient with the elders and when you have o communicate clearly and give eye contact when you talk to them, because some have eye and hearing problems.
The biggest gain I've made throughout this experience is that I've gained a lot of knowledge about the elders and how to deal with them. I would definitely volunteer at Glacier Hills again if i had the chance to, because it'd been a great experience working with elders and hearing their stories. I am so glad that I got the chance to volunteer at Glacier Hills and leaving with a smile on the resident's face.

My name is Nour. I am 17 and I am in the Michigan works youth program and entering in the elder care, learn and help the elders. I am looking forward into learning about the elder's lives. It's a great experience so far and I hope I'll get a lot out of this program that would help me in my future. It's really fun being at glacier hills helping the elders. I am excited about walking the elders in the garden and doing their nails. The property at glacier hills is nice and neat, and the garden there is beautiful. The saddest part is watching the elders losing their memory and that's why i want to be their to leave with a smile on their face.
There's a resident at Glacier hills that I really admire because she's so down to earth & she still talks like she's still living in the past even tough she knows that she's at this point in her
life. she has so many stories and memories to tell other people about and I'd want to hear her stories and get to know her better. She's 96 years old and she still wants to do more activities that make her feel alive and that she's still living. What I like about her is that she likes to listen to what people got to say like tell her a story and she loves when people sit with her and listen to her stories.
